Good creek boat?

Is the Perception Java a good creek boat for a small person? I'm 5'4 and weigh about 115lbs. Looks like I'm in the weight range but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this boat? Also, what else would you suggest?

When i first got it I was 5'6 and 135, so not too much bigger than you. Now i weigh in at about 165 and it still paddles great. I have had smaller friends and bigger friends all paddle this boat and did fine. The only possible problems is that it is a bit slow compared to some other creekers and does not have as much bow rocker at some newer creekers, these things have never bothered me though.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Flo on March 28, 2008 at 6:00pm: the java is a good boat, espacially for lightweight paddlers, I'm around 160lbs and ran pretty gnarly stuff in it, steep rivers in high water and had no troubles. go for it!
another option would be the bliss stick scud but this one would be pretty fat for you; ▶ Reply to This
