hey chris.

we don't need to do too much top-down to manage access to great falls. local boaters developed an excellent relationship with the two national parks (either shore) as well as Maryland DNR (the river) years ago and things have been working pretty well ever since.

After a run-in with the NPS helicopter park police (different management structure than the park rangers) a couple of years ago, local boaters formed Great Falls Kayak Coalition (GFKC) so the falls community could communicate with one voice (when needed) with the land managers.

AW plays a supporting role to GFKC.

Hey Chris thanks for the heads up. I'm working full time at Jim Thorpe River Adventures and the Northeast PA Kayak School so I'm getting my training through them.
