Hope you are feeling better. Next week is the last pool session. I plan to be on the upper Chena and maybe the upper Chatanika this weekend, and whitewater on Willow Creek (if the river gods cooperate) by next weekend. Drop me a note if you want me to bring extra boats next week. I have a meeting at 5:30, so I may be a bit late.
Sorry I missed your post before tonight's pool session. I would have been glad to throw in an extra boat and gear. There was a pretty big turnout tonight. A big group showed up from Denali Park. Give a holla for next week. You can also e-mail me on my district e-mail account. (jschauer) I paddled downtown on the chena last week from Peger rd up to Cushman and back. . Whitewater should be flowin' soon!!
Hi Elizabeth, I missed Monday night to help do tech support the ski races at Birch Hill. I'll try to make most of the other evenings. I have several boats I'd be willing to loan for Monday night sessions. I've got an EZG and a Gus, as well as several old school boats. Drop a note if you want to borrow one. There are usually a few extras to borrow at the pool.. and kayak polo is a real kick! better for building boating skills than roll practice IMO. John

Hey Elizabeth, I'm also a Fairbanks kayaker working for the school district. I've already had the paddlin' fever for a month or so, with nothing to quench it but Monday night pool sessions and kayak polo. Guess that will have to get me by for at least another six weeks or so. I'm a safe, happily married old geezer who has been paddling Alaskan whitewater for the last 25 years. Both my sons share my passion for paddling and nordic skiing. (Paul is the one who started this group.) Always looking for other Alaskans to share adventures. Hope to see you on the river (or at a Monday night in Hamme pool while the whitewater is still solid.)
Lizzy, You go, GIRL! I'm so glad you are doing well in Alaska. Is it as beautiful as you had hoped? I'm really glad you like your job and have decided to take on another year. As for the men, sweetie, I have no viable advice as I haven't officially dated (well, dated someone I really liked) in about 8 months now.
We just finished up Creek Week and you would have loved it. I did Emory River Canyon and it was AMAZING. Actualy did some read and run on Class III...I know that's not big to most boaters, but it was a first for me and I'm quite proud. Also logged that combat roll I've been waiting on...
Miss you, Keep in touch! S

Girl, girl! You are soooo living the life and I am JEALOUS. So, spill. What's it like? Met any guys? Find any for me?
Everything is plugging along here in M-town. Wish I was going to be seeing you at roll practice on Wednesday. It's my daughter's 8th b'day and she wants me to get her a boat so she can learn to roll :-)
Gonna let Mhoward try to teach her. Think he'll tell her to Keep her f head down? Might better teach her about grown up words before we get there.
