It's all good man! No worries! Hey, I'm probably running "Chutes" AKA- Deckers with a few people from mountainbuzz on either thursday or Friday, BUT MOST LIKELY Friday morning/early afternoon. if you want to come. I might call up Cecil and see if he wants to join in too. Still working out the details. I have a thread going on mountainbuzz: " Anyone planning a beginner trip August 3/4" <==== Something along those lines.

Hey, my day for sunday just opened up, how exactly do I get to the safeway on 115 and 83? I'm not too familier with that area...is it the one going towards Ft.Carson across that bridge? Also, how dependable of a roll do I need for this run??? I can maybe roll 2 out of 10 times...still working on it.

OH, when you get a chance, tell Cecil, Melissa, and Brett we say "Hello." LOL...what are the chances..? If you want, you can check out the photos of our run on my facebook.com page in the "Kayaking" album. Pics of mostly Joey for now untill he gets his back from getting developed. The link is on my page here at the bottom.

LOL!!! Holy crap! Yeah, That was us! The intern was Brett, and the other girl was Mary. Yeah, I remember! Me and my bro went back and did that run again in our pyranha S8's ( We bought these used back in the summer of 2005 when I had just got out of the Army) The flow went up to 4200 when we went back and did it. We almost made it, but I flipped after the bridge near the end, in my bro's attempt to t-rescure me, I ended up knocking his bow, missing the handle, which caused him to flip, we both ended up swimming. The S8 is just too edgy and slicey for us right now, but we're keeping them for now. This past monday we drove down to BV, went to CKS, I rented the HERO, and Joey rented the Super Hero, went down the Milk Run ( Despite it's name, at 1650 is was anything but a "Milk Run" LOL) And stayed pretty much on tip of the water the whole way down! Going through bigger waves and those rapids made all the basics much easier...like Cecil says, " All of a sudden, it'll just click." HAHA. And it did just that, it clicked and everything became so much more natural. We dropped off the rentals, I purchased a HERO, and he got a Super Hero. We just have to cut down the bulkhead foam/foot block some all we'll be all set. What is a good type of knife to cut through the foam? I don't want to butcher it. We have Werner Sherpa straight shaft paddles, Lotus PFD's, pro-tec helms, and Rage-In-Wear Dry tops. Pretty awsome that I found you on here, and I actually found this site by accident. Well sweet, definately let me know when you guys go out again, we'd be glad to come along with you all. Still pretty new, but much much better than when you last saw us, so some beginner to intermediate runs for now if you run those later.

Dude, Have I paddled with you? If you went thru the Air Force Academy, there is a chance. I work as a raft guide at USAFA and have helped out with the kayak class. I remember taking a couple people out in kayaks a month or so ago. We hit the pueblo greenway run to teach some eddy skills. Was that you? There were 2 brothers and a girl along with an intern. Cecil, Melissa and I were the ones running support.

Thanks for the info! I've checked out the web page for pikes peak whitewater club before, but was unsure if I had to be a member to paddle with you guys. Definately appreciate the invite for this sunday, but unfortunately have prior engagements. Me and my bro only started kayking in May, took our kayak class at the Outdoor Rec program on the Airforce Academy, and have advanced pretty well. I have a Hero, and he has a Super Hero, great boats! The most technical run we've done is the Milk Run to Ruby Campground at 1650 cfs, which actually produced some class III's and some nice holes at that flow. Please let me know of any other trips that may happening, I'd love to join you guys some, meet people to paddle with, and learn more about running the river with more experienced paddlers. Classes for me at UCCS start back up on August 25-ish, so I'm trying to be on the river as much as possible before that happens!
