About Me:: I am a middle school teacher who loves to spend time outside. I like to hike, kayak, go fishing, run, and I just bought a snowboard so I can't wait for next winter.

Favorite Rivers:: I am just beginning to paddle whitewater, but I enjoy some local creeks when they are up.

Music:: rusted root, yonder mountain, manau, blues traveler, pink floyd, jimmy buffett, smashing pumpkins, dave matthews

Books:: into the wild, without reservations, last child in the woods, lord of the rings trilogy, harry potter books, anything by francis mayes

Good Things:: life in general - i work at a good school and teach mostly terrific kids, have a great boyfriend who shares all things outdoors with me, and have some super cool friends.

my students are nuts. it is so hard to be inside knowing that i am only a mile from the river. ugh

I am totally going to be at boater chicks...i'll probably have my babies with me, so I don't know how much I'll get to paddle, but hey, it will be fun to just experience the groundswell of chicks who rock and boat!
The boaterdude is very nice (even though he's b4da$$). I'm impressed actually (kind of rare).
My school's admin is looking so far away that when I said, "hey, we need to go over and get the seating for the graduation exercise so I know how to line up people," the admin never responded. So, I guess we just don't line up people? hmmmm, that's going to be fun AND interesting.
Please say you'll be at boater chicks so we can at least met and hang (if not boat). And, thank you for reading my blog and posting a comment. It's very nice to feel heard. S

I start every morning by walking in after the bell (duty in the hall), sitting down at my desk, popping open the laptop (we take roll electronically) and saying "we have X days, X hours, X minutes and X seconds until we never see each other again." Then, I take roll. It's good for the kids to have routine... :D Thanks for the comment. Glad their are other teachers who boat. All my friends at work think I'm insane. Good luck...and just to spit em...25 days :p
